Six Feet Over

I noticed that you got a new pair of shoes
I know because I knew you only had two pairs of shoes
And the ones you're wearing aren't those.

And I know you like root beer and seltzer and hot sauce
You listen to Muse and rap music and know all the words to Modern Major General
And like puns

I saw your dad once this summer, in a city neither of us live in.

I know what your chest feels like against mine
What you smell like
What your voice sounds like when you're sick.

It feels like I know more than I should
About a stranger
Who stares at me too much.

The Space

Feeling lonely
And cannot tell you,
Any of the "you"s that could be.

Flicker
Flicker
Flicker

An emblazoned
Trail of lovers lost.
Naked bodies
Now clothed.
Skin that is
No longer mine.

Flicker
Flicker
Flicker

What was ours
Is mine,
Mine to share
With/out
You.
