The canyons in my heart
Are trying to heal
But your river still runs through them.
Faith and hope
Stitch ever faster
But they can't hear the silent raging below.
Your river
Is drowning out the color
Of the faces and the sunshine
Around me
Leaving so few
Bright stars
In my sky.
Those stars
We once watched together
Being doused one by one
By the river.
I don't know what
To look at anymore
But big, empty, gray sky
That swallows the echoes
As I call for you.
And you can't hear it
As the river runs through.

Little Wooden Boy
Little wooden boy,
Once you were animated.
Once you were not so hard-edged.
Little wooden boy,
Once you smiled and laughed.
Once you glowed with joy.
Little wooden boy,
Why do you stare, blankly?
Why do you sit, silently?
Little wooden boy,
Where has your breath gone?
Where is the light?
Little wooden boy,
You're just a sad memory on a shelf.
A broken bit of laughter, its last echo fading.
Little wooden boy,
So stiff,
So sad,
Once you were happy;
Once you were alive.

Loveblind
Once there lived
A boy and girl
Who played in deep canyons
And climbed tall spires
Flew across bridges and mountains and plains
And took turns dancing
On the palms of each other's hands
She hid in his mind
And he in her heart
Life was furiously passionate
Truly a fairy tale
Those people don't exist anymore
Souls twain with soft hands and hearts
They only existed
In the realm of the loveblind
Where spirits hide behind
Love of unknown strength
That can make everything beautiful
But when some of the love
Slipped
Away
To grace another heart
The two vanished
From the realm of the loveblind
And they can't get back
Though they wish they could
Somehow they must find
A new path to loveblind
Or give their hands to truth
Or acknowledge that they've
Given up
For good.

I Hope You Dare
I am ready
I am willing
To be perfectly honest
If you think you can
Handle it
If you think
You're ready
There are words
I would whisper
In only your ear
If I thought
You were strong enough
To hear them
And know the truth
I already know
And so I can wait
Because my truth remains
In any time frame
But it may change for you
If you miss your chance
So I hope you dare
To ask
And to know.

So Long
My distant eyes are
Watching your horizon
As the eastern sun rises
Once again without you.
If you're listening
There's a message on the wind
In the waves crashing on the beach
So you'll stop destructing.
It's been so long
So long
So long
But there's so far to go
There is much to do
I hope you'll be there
As I'm running forward.
Let the dream fly,
Meet mine
When you grow up
To the top of the Empire State Building
Here I am
No - The Chrysler
Is really my favorite
Find me there
When you're ready
Until then, baby,
Be safe in your playpen
For now I say so long, love.
So long.
So long.
